​We are a team of 12 students in grades 8-12 from Ideaventions Academy, a private school in Reston, VA, participating in the Bell Advanced Vertical Robotics competition.

We are the two-time National Champions.

About AVR

​Advanced Vertical Robotics (AVR) is a national competition based in Texas open to highschoolers around the country. This is their sixth season running and our third participating. 

Succeeding in the competition requires incredible teamwork and commitment. Everybody has a part to play, and everybody plays it well.

2024 Competition

A hurricane has decimated Florida, downing power lines and damaging a bridge. Our objective is to make repairs within five minutes using six vehicles: the main AVR drone, the smaller DEXI drone, the Sphero RVR, and three Sphero Minis. For more information, check out the theavr.org!
